I can relate to those parents who talk about how their children as babies were completely different. The first...oh..4 months with Sansa were totally overwhelming. We had never had a puppy before (our other girls were older when we got them) so it was a big adjustment! I was prepared for the worst when bringing Sophie home. Within the first five minutes of the drive home she pooped in the Jeep, which didn’t give me great confidence for happiness in the days ahead (although, it could’ve been worse. Philip and I took my cat, Kitty (original name, I know), to the vet back when I still lived at home and he got really upset on the way home, screeching and crying. He ended up pooping ON MY LAP 😡😡. It was the grossest thing to ever happen to me to date). Despite that incident, she has been wonderful and not pottied in the house at all. She and Sansa are getting along, however, I do feel like Sansa is feeling a bit like the teenager with a five year old sister. Sophie is Sansa’s shadow right now and I think she’s beginning to wonder whose idea it was to get a puppy 😂. They started out playing separately, Sansa with the white bone, Sophie with the snake.
Sansa dropped her bone onto the floor and came down there to chew it. Sophie tried to take it so Sansa got up and moved away from her.
Sophie stared longingly at Sansa’s bone. She inched closer a couple of times and Sansa put her paw on Sophie’s face 😂.
She just couldn’t help herself and had to try to sneak in again. Sansa ended up moving to another part of the room to escape her 😂.
Five minutes later, she was out. That’s the one good thing about puppies: they sleep a lot. So just when you’re like, “Okay, I need a break” from the constant nibbling and checking on her to make sure she isn’t electrocuting herself by chewing through a power cord, she gets tired and has to nap. And you know what they say to new moms...you should sleep when the baby sleeps. I’m for it! 😉😂
Alright, well now that you have been introduced to the pup, it’s time to get to my actual intended subject. Marsha found this awesome idea for bottle cap flowers and tagged me on FB. I had an abundance of bottle caps so this was the perfect way to use them:
These will make a great addition to my fairy garden once I get all the stems glued on.
The next creation is a Creative Kimpire original. I see so many great ideas on Pinterest that I feel extra cool when I create one on my own 🤣😜. I needed a place to hang the necklaces I make while I’m working on them and that don’t get finished in one sitting. I used an extra large paint stir stick that we didn’t use with the stain for our deck and cut up pieces of dowel rods. I stuck the dowel pieces to the stick with some wood glue, cut off the handle, added some spray paint, and tacked it to the wall. Sorry the pic isn’t great. We have terrible lighting in this house. Maybe that will be a project one day 🤔.
I used to buy so many candles from Bath and Body Works. Every time they went on sale I bought some. Eventually those candles wear down and have you ever noticed that they come in nice jars? If you stick them in the freezer when the wax gets down low, it makes it easier to pop the wax out. They clean up easily. I have several in both sizes but I use the little ones in my bathroom to store cotton balls and Q-tips. They’re the perfect size for the small shelf above my sink.
The last project was a Pinterest copycat. We keep salt and pepper grinders by the stove and they make a mess when you sit them down after using them. We used to have a plate to sit them on but it took up too much space. I used an old loaf pan that my dad gave me and I bought a cheap pack of cabinet knobs to use as legs. I drilled a hole in the bottom of each corner, attached the knobs, and here ya go:
I think it makes a cute little caddy. I bought the rubber spatula holder (aka letter holder) at Goodwill. Did you know they have brand new items from Target marked down to ridiculously low prices?!
In the future, my nightly closing will have to be amended now that there’s a second dog to say goodnight. However, you saw tons of pics of the pup already and this one is a keeper of just Sansa.
See you next week!
