Baby E: Weeks 33 & 34

It’s been an interesting couple of weeks in the baby department. The Saturday before last was the first day I felt a distinguishable body part kick out of my stomach and that’s…weird. I’m growing used to it now and can’t help but to put my hand on my belly any time I feel a push. I feel like he wants attention when he slams a foot or an elbow out of the side of my stomach so I instinctively touch it but he really probably just wants me to not do that so he can stretch πŸ˜‚. Oh well. I don’t want my ribs kicked but he doesn’t consider my wishes so….🀷🏻‍♀️πŸ€ͺ

I’ve had a few contractions the last couple of weeks. The first one happened at Walmart and that was not cool. My feet hurt constantly so walking isn’t the most fun anyway but adding false contractions to it is anxiety-producing. The joints in my fingers are sore now and my wedding ring is tight most of the time. I have a silicone one so I’ve been wearing it in case it gets stuck.   I’m finishing out the month with my yoga classes and then will be taking a few months off. This week has been challenging for sure!

My 3 hour glucose test results were in my online health record the Monday after my test and I was not surprised when I got a call later in the week from my doctor’s nurse to discuss them. She said that the doctor prescribed a glucometer and wanted me to check my sugar 4 times a day. She also wanted to schedule an appointment for me to attend a nutrition counseling class in Morgantown but when I informed her that I didn’t think that would be necessary since I have a B.S. in Nutrition Science, she agreed. When I met with the doctor last week I took my log and she said my results were pretty good and as long as I can control the diabetes with diet and exercise, I won’t be required to be induced due to him getting too big. I have to see her weekly now so that she can monitor my blood sugar logs. We have an ultrasound next week to check his growth which I’m curious to see because she said my placenta was measuring at 36 weeks when I saw her and I was only 34 weeks 5 days 😳

I had maternity pictures taken last week with Karen Stout who owns Karen Stout Fine Arts Studio. She was amazing to work with, telling me how to pose and mostly importantly, how to position my head because I’m great at cocking it to the side and looking goofy in pics. We had to reschedule several times because I wanted to do them outside and we’ve had never ending rain but we finally got a good day and the weather was perfect. The place we went had some donkeys roaming around freely and one of them is also heavily pregnant. She came over and wanted to be petted 😍. Poor girl, I feel for her! I escaped the whole experience of traipsing around in high grass and weeds (laying in some of them) without a snake bite or poison ivy so I think that counts as success!

Sansa got to go on adventure last week, too. She went to the vet for vaccines and treatment for a skin infection that she seems to get on her stomach every summer. Soph is not a big fan of riding in the car, at least not without Sansa. I was concerned that taking just Sansa was going to be an issue but when Soph saw me putting blankets on my back seat she ran from the door when I came back in and that made things much easier. Sansa on the other hand LOVES riding in the car, even though she rarely goes anywhere other than the vet, a place she is not a fan of πŸ€”. However, she decided she would be the welcoming committee at the New Martinsville Animal Hospital and said hi to EVERYONE; except for the puppy beside us, she growled at him and acted like a mean ass. She got in trouble and told to lay down so she did…right under the bench I was sitting on πŸ˜‚

Soph was on an experimental hiatus from her crate the last few weeks but she’s back in jail for the most part. She was being super good while we were gone and then just decided a few days ago to rip a cushion off the couch and tear some stuffing out of it 😑😑😑. We were hoping she would graduate to good girl status and could be left out, mostly so that we could remove her crate from the living room to make room for the baby’s swing. Onto plan B, which hasn’t been developed yet πŸ™„πŸ€·πŸ»‍♀️.

Her current status is hiding under the kitchen table because she doesn’t like this thunderstorm. The last one brought her back into our bed to sleep, which she hasn’t done in a while. She usually prefers the chair in the living room. This was at the start of the storm πŸ˜‚πŸ˜. Sansa is such a good big sister.

Really, she is. I didn’t see it happen but I am 100% confident that Soph positioned herself into that spot.

Sharing a chew toy....even though they have an entire toy box full of them πŸ™„πŸ€¦πŸ»‍♀️.

Sitting *beside* Mom cuz she’s not allowed to sit *on* her...

Mommy and Sansa selfie πŸ˜ƒ

Too tired to use her paws..attempting to chew on her toy anyway

I told you all she likes having the blanket over her head. Her nose is INSIDE a hole she chewed 😑

Philip sent me this one, captioned “dog status while you were at yoga.” Soph was biting Sansa’s leg while Sansa just looked off in the distance, probably thinking about her life before Soph πŸ˜‚

They’re a handful but we love them. Can’t until we can all meet their brother πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’™
